For more than 25 years, Wings of Hope Global Foundation has believed that helping someone survive is only the beginning. Under the leadership of founder Captain Irene Mora, our work is about helping children and families break the cycle of poverty for good, so they can truly thrive, one precious life at a time.
“We are helping them break the relentless cycle of poverty.”
— Captain Irene Mora, Founder, Wings of Hope Global
Planting Seeds for a Sustainable Future
Short-term relief matters, but lasting change takes more. That is why we invest in long-term, sustainable programs that give children and families the tools to build a better life on their own terms:
- Education that opens doors and gives children a foundation for the future
- Skills training that leads to real opportunities and income
- Community partnerships that keep progress going long after a program ends
When a child can learn and a parent can earn, a family can finally step out of the cycle of poverty, and the next generation starts from higher ground.
Every Child Deserves a Chance to Dream
At the heart of everything we do is a simple belief: no child's future should be decided by the circumstances they were born into. Captain Mora believes every child deserves the chance to grow into who they are meant to be.
“…to dream, to learn, and to thrive.”
— Captain Irene Mora
Reaching Further, Touching More Lives
Our reach keeps growing. We work hand in hand with governments, partner organizations, and local groups who understand their communities best, and we use digital platforms to connect with donors and volunteers around the world.
That global family was on full display at our 26th anniversary celebration in Pasay City, where delegates from the United States, Iran, Israel, Mexico, Papua New Guinea, and the Philippines came together and helped raise ₱1.6 million for communities in need.
Why Giving Matters
Giving does not only change the lives of the people we serve. It brings a profound sense of purpose to the people who give, and it reminds all of us of our shared humanity. Captain Mora put it simply in a poem she shared on Instagram:
“You are why Wings of Hope exists.”
— Captain Irene Mora, from a poem shared on Instagram
Be the Light
Every donation, every volunteer hour, and every share helps us keep this work going. Here is how you can help a child break the cycle of poverty today:
- Make a donation to fund education and skills programs
- Volunteer with us and share your time and talents
- Share our story with friends and family who care about children in need
“Be the reason the light continues to shine.”
— Captain Irene Mora
